I have always loved this poem by Dawna Markova. So when a few years ago, Francesca suggested that as part of my Italian studies I translate some piece that I loved, I chose this. She helped me get the verbs just right and to select the words to capture the spirit of the original English version.
When I heard she had passed, I knew I wanted to read this poem for her, and her family and friends. It so wonderfully describes Francesca -- she lived her life fully and vividly!
